As an undergraduate at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, Dr. Carmichael was fascinated by science and medicine and volunteered in hospitals throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Following graduation, she attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical School in Houston and then did her OB/GYN residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Dr. Carmichael is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She also is a member of several professional societies, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the Dallas County Medical Society and Phi Beta Kappa.
Dr. Carmichael appreciates and is humbled by the recurring recognition she has received from DFW Child as a “Mom-Approved Doctor” and “Best OB/GYN” in Irving and Coppell, by Living Magazine readers.
Dr. Carmichael feels honored and grateful to share the joys of pregnancy and childbirth with the families in her practice. She says that experiencing that amazing moment, the miracle of new life, the tears of joy and sense of relief in the room is a moment that will never lose its magic for her.
