Jamol Brocks: Success is beating heart failure.

Jamol Brocks experienced chest pains while at work, but ignored them. Later that night, he awoke feeling nauseated and blacked out a short time later. His wife insisted they go to the hospital right away. At Baylor Jack and Jane Hamilton Heart and Vascular Hospital, Jamol was diagnosed with myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle. When Jamol's kidneys and liver started to fail, he was put on full life support. To give his heart time to rest, physicians on the medical staff inserted a temporary device that helps a weakened heart pump blood. A few days later, his organs began to function normally again. After 18 days in the hospital, Jamol went home. "Going to Baylor was the best decision I ever made. I felt like I was in good hands."
