Richard Bauer: With my Crohn's disease pain gone, life is great again.

Richard Bauer loved to run, until stomach pains forced him to hang up his running shoes. "It would get so intense, I'd just stay in bed," he explains. Richard found help at Baylor, where endoscopy, CT scans and a biopsy revealed the source of the pain: Crohn's disease, a chronic gastrointestinal inflammation. "I thought the worst," he says, but his fear subsided when the prescribed treatment of diet and medication worked. Today, he's grateful to be pain-free and running again. "The way Baylor's been handling it is phenomenal."
