Carroll Prewitt: Too old for a lung transplant? Baylor disagreed.

Diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, Carroll Prewitt's hometown doctor offered no hope. "He said a lung transplant was the only answer and that I was too old," Carroll explains. That's when he turned to Baylor. After a complete evaluation, he was accepted into the transplant program. By the time of his surgery, Carroll couldn't breathe without an oxygen tube. That changed within days of his double lung transplant. Today, Carroll is healthy and active. "I go hunting, waterskiing, whatever I want to do."
