Gene Peyton: COPD took my breath away. A lung transplant gave it back.

Gene Peyton doesn't take breathing for granted. Plagued for decades by emphysema and COPD, he knows what it's like to struggle to walk a few feet. "It got so bad, my wife had to help me bathe," he explains. When his doctor recommended a lung transplant, Gene turned to Baylor. "I met other lung recipients who encouraged me," he says. Since his transplant, Gene has used his revitalized health to help others through his work in the ministry. "I want to give back."
