Admitting Hours and Information
For your convenience we are currently available Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Just come to the main entrance facing Josey Lane, and admitting is to the left of the gift shop and information desk. View facility map here.
All other weekends, after hours and holiday admits are handled through our Emergency Department. Please come through the main ED entrance on the west side of the hospital. View after hours facility map here.
After the admission process has been completed, you will be taken to your room. Your room will be selected based on your medical needs as indicated by your physician. We will attempt to accommodate your room preferences when possible.
Your room assignment at Baylor Scott & White – Carrollton is based on your admitting diagnosis and the bed availability on the day of your admission. You may be moved during your stay as your health changes.
Baylor Scott & White – Carrollton uses hospital beds designed to both aid in your treatment and provide you with options for comfort. Your nurse will show you how to properly use the controls that will enable you to adjust your bed. Additionally, your hospital bed is probably higher and narrower than your bed at home. Bedside rails are for your protection. They may be raised at night or during the day if you’re resting, recovering from surgery or taking certain medications.
While In Your Room
Your room is designed for patient care. Any questions on how to operate your television, bed or intercom can be answered by the nursing staff. Please keep radios and televisions at a low volume so that patients in other rooms will not be disturbed.
What to Bring
To support and provide care for you we will need certain documents when you arrive to the clinic:
- Drivers License or other legal picture identification (federally issued I.D.)
- Current insurance information
- Document from your pharmacy of your medications, including patches
- Copies of any laboratory information provided to you
- Copies of any previous surgical or other medical records you may have
If you brought jewelry, credit cards or money with you to the hospital, we suggest sending them home with a family member or friend. If you’d like to store your wallet or checkbook in a safe, ask the nursing staff for more information. If you need to retrieve any valuables from the safe during your stay, you may do so by asking your nurse to contact nursing administration.
We recommend that you bring a comb and brush, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste and shaving supplies with you to the hospital. For safety reasons, we must limit electrical appliances brought into your room to small grooming appliances, such as hair dryers, curling irons and electric shavers. Unless your physician specifically asks you to bring prescribed medications, please leave them at home. Keep in mind that Baylor is not responsible for any valuables or personal items that you elect to keep while in the hospital. Dentures, glasses, hearing aids, contact lenses and other personal items are your responsibility. If you keep these items with you in the hospital, we recommend that you place them in the bedside table drawers when not being used.
