Onward! The Survivorship Journey Offering programs for current patients and cancer survivors designed to provide tools that may reduce tension, anxiety, anger or fatigue and promote a healthy overall well-being.
The Arts in Medicine program at the Joan Katz Cancer Resource Center is a unique offering to cancer patients and caregivers that introduces art therapy to the healing process in order to address and alleviate emotional distress, enhance physical health of the immune system, sensory system and pain levels, and instills feelings of empowerment, self-confidence and dignity. Art therapists are mental health professionals who hold a master’s degree in Art Therapy with specialized training in the therapeutic qualities of the art media and their clinical application.
