Your PCP is your partner in your overall well-being

A primary care physician (PCP), or primary care doctor, is your first stop when you are sick or in need of healthcare services—including your annual physical, immunizations, prescription refills, cold or flu symptoms, a sore throat, minor injuries, back pain or even suspected broken bones.

Your primary care physician also makes sure you are up to date on your preventive health services such as mammograms or colorectal screenings.

Especially when it comes to chronic conditions, like diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or congestive heart failure, your primary care doctor is the one who provides the frequent monitoring and consistent voice in your care. Find a list of all of our primary care clinics in Texas.

Same-day care options

Baylor Scott & White Health offers convenient services when you are sick. Many of our primary care clinics accept walk-ins or offer after-hours and weekend appointments. In addition, we offer eVisit services that enable you to get an online diagnosis and treatment plan for common medical conditions often treated by a primary care doctor.

Walk with a Doc

Walk with a Doc is a monthly walking program during which a Baylor Scott & White provider speaks briefly about his or her area of expertise—from tips for avoiding heat stroke or managing allergies to steps to help maintain mental wellness.

Walkers will then enjoy a one- to two-mile walk with the provider, during which you can continue the conversation and ask the provider health-related questions.
