Baylor Scott & White – Grapevine specializes in cardiovascular services, women’s services, neurosciences, oncology, neonatal intensive care, spine, orthopedics, women services, trauma, and intensive and emergency care.

In March 2012, Baylor Scott & White – Grapevine was awarded Magnet designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The second designation was awarded in January 2017. This prestigious credential is regarded as the highest achievement a healthcare organization can acquire. To achieve this designation, the nurses at Baylor Scott & White – Grapevine demonstrated superior quality patient care and outcomes and nursing excellence while focusing on growth and innovation.

It is my privilege to serve this community as chief nursing officer and vice president of Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine. Our team of nurses and healthcare professionals have a relentless focus on quality and strive to deliver exceptional patient experiences 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

We are proud to have received national honors for our care, including being a Magnet-designated facility since 2017 by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Only 8% of hospitals nationwide have achieved this recognition—widely considered the highest honor for nursing care—recognizing a hospital’s achievement in delivering outstanding patient care and quality outcomes. Our team is unwavering in its commitment to creating a loving and healing environment for our community. Our nurses care for patients with skill, experience and compassion, and they are empowered to lead change to always meet the needs of our patients first and foremost.

Shared governance

  • Philosophy

    A key element of a professional practice environment is the existence of a leadership structure that fosters team members' participation in planning and decision-making related to clinical practice, education, research and human resources. The nurse—with the responsibility, authority and accountability for professional nursing practice and for the work environment—participates in processes (with the active involvement of management) that promote clinical excellence, interprofessional collaboration and continuous performance improvement. While nursing practice is based on the Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH) Professional Nursing Practice Model, collaboration with other professionals is imperative to create and sustain a workplace environment that fosters team member development, satisfaction, and the retention and recruitment of highly qualified team members . In our professional practice environment, governance is shared between clinical team members and formal leaders. Council members represent the “whole.” Decisions are made in the best interest of the patient, organization and unit. Council agenda topics address quality, clinical practice and the work environment.
