LSVT for Parkinson's disease

LSVT for Parkinson's disease

The LSVT Program provides speech, physical and occupational therapy for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. LSVT BIG is delivered by a physical or occupational therapist in 16 sessions over a single month (four individual 60-minute sessions per week). The protocol was developed to address the unique movement impairments for people with Parkinson disease. The protocol is both intensive and complex, with multiple repetitions of core movements that are used in daily living. This type of practice is necessary to optimize learning and carryover of your better movement into everyday life! Start exercising NOW—as soon as possible.

LSVT LOUD is delivered by a speech-language therapist in Rowlett and is an effective speech treatment for individuals with Parkinson disease and other neurological conditions. The treatment improves vocal loudness by stimulating the muscles of the voice box (larynx) and speech mechanism through a systematic hierarchy of exercises. Focused on a single goal “speak LOUD!”—the treatment improves respiratory, laryngeal and articulatory function to maximize speech intelligibility. The treatment does not train people for shouting or yelling; rather, LSVT LOUD uses loudness training to bring the voice to an improved, healthy vocal loudness with no strain. Treatment is administered in 16 sessions over a single month (four individual 60-minute sessions per week).

What is Lymphedema? It is a common, chronic, debilitating condition in which excess fluid called lymph collects in tissues and causes swelling (edema) in them. Symptoms of lymphedema include swelling in one or more extremities. The swelling may range from mild to severe and disfiguring.

- Compression bandaging
- Skin care
- Patient-specific lymphedema physical therapy exercises

Baylor Scott & White Health is pleased to offer you multiple options to pay your bill. View our guide to understand your Baylor Scott & White billing statement.

We offer two online payment options:

Make a one-time payment without registering by selecting the "Pay a Bill as a Guest" option.
Enroll or login to your MyBSWHealth account to view account balances and statements, set up a payment plan or enroll in paperless statements.

Other payment options:

Pay by mail

To ensure that your payment is correctly applied to your account, detach the slip from your Baylor Scott & White billing statement and return the slip with your payment. If paying by check or money order, include your account number on the check or money order.

Please mail the payment to the address listed on your statement.
Pay by phone

Call 1.800.994.0371 to make a payment. Payments can be made over the phone with our automated phone payment system 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All payments made via the automated phone payment system will post the next business day.

If you need to speak to someone about a Baylor Scott & White bill from our hospitals or clinics, our Customer Service department can take payments over the phone from Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Pay in person

Payments can be made in person at the facility where you received services.

Just like we make it easy to get care when your child is sick or injured, our top-rated app, MyBSWHealth, can simplify keeping them healthy. The app lets you book appointments, message your pediatrician, view your child’s medical records and schedule virtual same-day care from your computer, smartphone or tablet.

The Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Lake Pointe is a vital part of the east Dallas community. Dining options

The Pointe Café

The cafeteria is located on the first floor of Tower 1 near the north entrance. It is open to all employees, physicians, guests and visitors and provides a wide range of food and beverages options for your enjoyment including a fresh fruit and salad bar, variety of panini sandwiches, a variety of take-out items, a grill and a hot entrée station featuring self-serve breakfast and home made lunch entrées.

Breakfast: 6:30 AM - 2:00 PM on weekdays
Lunch: 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM on weekdays; 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM on weekends
Dinner is not served in the Lake Pointe Café.

Coffee Bar

The Coffee Bar is located on the first floor of Tower 1 near the north entrance. We proudly brew Starbucks coffee and offer an assortment of snack items.

Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 9:30 PM

Vending machines

Vending machines are located in the café seating area and are available 24/7.

The chapel is located on the first floor of the hospital, near surgery check-in for meditation and prayer all hours of the day, every day of the week.
