An update for our labor and delivery patients
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Marble Falls will no longer offer labor and delivery services beginning next month; however, we will continue to offer pre-natal and post-natal care, along with many other women’s health services.
The last day of scheduled deliveries will be July 28, 2020.
We are proud of the many years we have provided safe, high-quality care to mothers and babies in the Hill Country region. With several other hospitals nearby that provide obstetrical care, including Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Lakeway, this service will remain readily accessible for growing families in the area. Patients who are scheduled to undergo an OB-related procedure at our hospital after the department closure will be contacted by their OB provider to facilitate a transfer to a nearby facility of their choice.
The Marble Falls emergency department staff will continue providing compassionate care to expectant mothers and their families in emergent situations:
- When mothers enter the Marble Falls emergency department in preterm labor, they will be transferred to a hospital of their choice with an appropriate level of delivery services.
- In an emergent situation, if a mother enters our Emergency Department in active labor, our board-certified Emergency Department physicians will deliver the baby. Once stabilized, they will be transferred to an appropriate facility.
