Skilled Nursing

​​​​​​After surgery or a severe illness, a patient may need professional care to aid in recovery transition from hospital to home. Patients recovering from illness or injury such as stroke, heart attack, cardiac surgery, hip and knee replacements, pneumonia, wound infections and dehydration can benefit from skilled nursing services.

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Taylor is unique in offering this level of post-acute care or "swing bed service" which is not available in most acute care hospitals. The professional skilled nursing staff at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Taylor can provide a complete spectrum of care for the recovering patient (as prescribed by a physician) including:

  • Physical therapy*
  • Occupational therapy*
  • Speech therapy
  • IV  medication administration
  • Respiratory therapy
  • 24-hour skilled nursing car
  • Wound care

*Offered twice each week day and once a day on Saturday for strengthening, mobility training, advanced wound care, balance or vestibular rehabilitation.
