Our surgical team specializes in robot-assisted, minimally invasive heart surgery near you in Plano. This treatment is the least invasive and provides more visibility and dexterity for the surgeon, and can also be used for multi-valve operations, atrial fibrillation and congenital heart defects.
What is robot-assisted surgery?
Through tiny incisions, robotic technology allows heart surgeons to see inside the body in minute detail. The robotic arms allow the surgeons at our Plano heart hospital to perform procedures with enhanced precision. A camera affixed to one of the robotic arms allows the surgeon to view the procedure at magnification 10 times greater than the human eye.
The heart surgeon maneuvers other robotic arms that feature laser tools and miniature scalpels. Surgery with the robot typically offers several potential advantages over traditional surgery such as shorter hospital stays, smaller incisions, and quicker recovery time.
