At Baylor Scott & White Health, we are excited to have assembled a team to specifically help dancers recover from injury and maintain optimum fitness and health. This team consists of providers, who either come from a dancer’s background, have worked with professional dancers and those with a special interest in working with dancers.
The Dancer’s Injury Prevention Clinic provides dancers with acute or chronic orthopedic conditions quick access for injury assessment, treatment recommendations, referrals to diagnostic imaging and orthopedic physicians and integrative medicine and education unique to the needs of each dancer. Screenings are held by appointment at our clinic in Round Rock. Our team is available to speak to teams, coaches, dance instructors, athletic trainers and parents about dancer’s injury prevention, training tips and more.
Providing Multiple-Therapy Care for Dancers of All Ages
When a dancer is injured, time is of the essence. The sooner care is sought, the faster the dancer can be back on stage and in class. Priority scheduling for primary care appointments, physical therapy and orthopedic assessment and imaging is available at the Dancer’s Injury Prevention Clinic.
The Dancer’s Care and Sports Medicine Team consists of:
- Orthopedic specialties
- Athletic training
- Physical therapy
- Massage therapy
This unique combination of therapies allows for all encompassing care for each individual dancer in both treatment and prevention of injuries. We will work as a team to develop a comprehensive care plan for the dancer in communication with his/her physician, therapist, dance instructor, athletic trainer and coach.
