When should you go to urgent care?

Urgent care is best used for minor illnesses and injuries that are not life threatening. If you’re not sure where to go, you can use our symptom checker to navigate your care options.

The symptom checker can help you decide when seeing your primary care provider or the Emergency Department is a better option for your care needs. This tool also provides physician-reviewed advice on how to relieve symptoms at home (if it’s safe to do so), check proper medication dosages and more.

The symptom checker isn’t meant to diagnose or treat a medical condition, but it can point you to the most appropriate place to receive care so you can start feeling better as quickly as possible.
