Biography
Cloe Veldhuis, FNP, is a Family Medicine nurse practitioner, who chose a career in medicine because of the unique perspective her younger brother (who has special needs) provided on the importance of compassionate healthcare. Growing up, she saw the challenges he faced in getting proper care, and it opened her eyes to the gaps in the healthcare system for individuals like him. This experience inspired Cloe to build a career focused on providing empathetic, accessible care to underserved populations. Cloe is passionate about family medicine because, after eight years as a critical care nurse, she realized the importance of focusing on preventative care. Family medicine lets her help patients stay healthy before issues become critical. In addition to empowering patients to manage their health, Cloe also loves the opportunity to build lasting relationships with patients and their families. Caring for individuals at every age ties into her passion for Pediatrics and Women’s Health. These areas are especially rewarding because they allow her to support patients through pivotal stages, whether it’s watching children grow or helping women through life health transitions. Outside of work, Cloe is an animal lover and spends much of her free time with her two rescue dogs, Mazy (a Boxer mix) and Milo (a Pit mix). Hiking with them allows her to unwind and recharge—although they’re always quick to chase a squirrel if they spot one! Spending time in nature helps Cloe stay balanced, mentally and physically, so that she can always bring her best self to work.
