Biography
Douglas Smith, DO is a fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the care of fractures and post-traumatic reconstruction. He has particular interest in the care of the polytraumatized orthopaedic patient, treatment of complex fractures and posttraumatic arthritis. He is dedicated to providing patients with compassionate and quality care in the Grapevine area. Dr. Smith earned his medical degree from Midwestern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine, Chicago, IL. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Ohio University, Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, OH and a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma from the University of Oklahoma, Tulsa, OK. In his spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also likes to play soccer, snowboard, spend time outdoors and watch professional sports.
