Jason D Alder, MD, FAAOS, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained spine surgeon. He is the Director of Spinal Surgery at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Frisco and Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Centennial. He completed his training at top-ranked medical institutions including Orthopedic Surgery residency at Houston Methodist Hospital and a combined Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Spinal Surgery fellowship at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic. Dr. Alder is a specialist in minimally invasive spine procedures and offers patients a comprehensive approach to spinal care, with a focus on patient safety and individualized treatment. Dr. Alder is a leading expert in the most modern advancements, including minimally invasive techniques, robotic spine surgery, stereotactic computer-navigated spine surgery and motion-preserving operations. He is experienced in all aspects of spine surgery, including laminectomies, discectomies, fusions and artificial disc replacements. In addition to authored publications in peer-reviewed journals, Dr. Alder has designed instruments essential to spinal surgery that are now being used worldwide. He has traveled in the US and internationally to present his work and also instruct surgeons in advanced spinal surgery techniques. Dr. Alder is proud to have trained and work in Texas. He treats all of his patients the same way he would treat his own family and would never recommend anything for his patients that he wouldn’t for a family member. He believes that most spine problems can be solved without surgery, but when surgery is necessary, the least invasive options should always be used. When not working, he loves spending time with his wife and three children, playing and coaching sports, and being a local founding member and team captain for All Pro Dads. Dr. Alder was recognized by D Magazine as a Best Doc for 2023 and 2025 and Best Docs Collin County for 2024. He has also been recognized by Texas Monthly as a “Rising Star” for 2024 and 2025.
