Biography
Dr. Chavarria is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon who is passionate about getting his patients back to the things they want to do through both non-surgical and surgical spine interventions. He specializes in a wide variety of spine conditions, including both neck and back conditions. He is dedicated to excellent patient care and providing patients with the best available options to treat their spine conditions. His goal is to work with patients to develop a plan that allows them to improve mobility, relieve pain and live their lives to the fullest. He believes that the patient comes first and promises to offer his clinical expertise while delivering compassionate, patient-centered healthcare. As such, he spends time answering patient questions, addressing concerns and guiding patients along their treatment course. Dr. Chavarria was born and raised in the Dallas Metroplex and understands the needs of this community. He earned his bachelor's degree from The University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with honors. He was then accepted to the prestigious Baylor College of Medicine in Houston for medical school. Dr. Chavarria then completed residency at The University of Colorado, where he was chief resident. Subsequently, he went on to receive additional training in all aspects of spine surgery at West Virginia University under the direction of world-renowned spine surgeons, Drs. John France and Sanford Emery. When not at work he enjoys time with both friends and family, and he is passionate about the outdoors and enjoys activities such as skiing, hiking and biking. He also enjoys teaching both medical students and residents and loves to pass knowledge to learners. A participating physician in the Baylor Scott & White Back and Neck Care program.
