Joseph K Kim, MD

Joseph Kim, MD is a board-certified gastroenterologist with additional fellowship training in therapeutic endoscopy. He treats a range of gastrointestinal health conditions and believes having a healthy gut is one of the central pillars of overall health. For every patient, Dr. Kim’s goal is to provide time-efficient, cost-effective and high-quality care.


Dr. Kim cares for conditions including irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, acid reflux, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, abdominal pain, blood in the stool, rectal bleeding, unintentional weight loss, diverticulosis, hemorrhoids, difficulty swallowing, eosinophilic esophagitis, liver diseases, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, microscopic colitis, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, biliary cancer, pancreatic cancer and colon cancer.

In order to better serve his patients, Dr. Kim completed an additional fellowship year of advanced therapeutic endoscopy under the mentorship of world-renowned advanced endoscopist David Carr-Locke, MD. Some of the therapeutic endoscopy procedures he performs include endoscopic ultrasound, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), luminal stenting and large polyp resection.

Procedures performed include upper endoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), Bravo pH monitoring, small bowel capsule endoscopy (Pillcam), and hemorrhoid banding.

He is also deeply grateful to have the opportunity to help patients prevent cancer or catch it in its early stages through colon cancer screening.

When not caring for patients, Dr. Kim loves spending quality time with his family, including his wife, three daughters, two dachshunds and two rabbits.
