Katherine Garvey, MD

Dr. Garvey is a board-certified gynecologist with a particular interest in clinical care and a minimally invasive surgery approach to endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids and adnexal masses.

Dr. Garvey’s goal is to help women feel empowered about their health — especially in regards to decreasing the wait time for an endometriosis diagnosis, which she approaches in a holistic manner, addressing the entire body. During her training, Dr. Garvey developed a special interest in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and spent an extra two years honing her skills with a special focus on endometriosis, pelvic pain, fibroids, and adnexal masses.


If you are struggling with uterine fibroids, she believes you deserve compassionate expert care tailored to your unique needs.  Dr. Garvey focuses on fertility preservation and improving quality of life and offers the latest techniques in robotic surgery with myomectomy, hysterectomy, hysteroscopic myomectomy, as well as non-surgical treatments such as uterine fibroid embolization, Sonata fibroid ablation, and medication based therapies.

Dr. Garvey spent more than 10 years practicing at Kaiser Permanente hospital in California.  She headed the largest GYN surgery team in northern California as the assistant chief of surgery, helped launch two new robotic surgery centers, gave numerous didactic lectures teaching residents in the classroom and operating room, and performed more than 1000 cases helping women transform their lives.

Dr. Garvey does not provide prenatal care or practice obstetrics so that she may focus more wholly on those specialties above.

She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology with a focused practice designation in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.

When not working, she likes travel, spend time outdoors, and spend time with her family.
