Biography
I take a very relaxed approach when meeting new clients, especially those who have never experienced being in a therapeutic environment. Taking that first step can be nerve wrecking and I’m here to help ease that. I start my sessions getting to know you and your goals. Helping you become as comfortable as possible using humor, common interests or some people just like to get right into it and that’s ok too! Why I Became A Therapist: From high school years involved in peer support, to my current role as an LCSW, I have always had a passion for being a support to those who need a glimpse of hope to make it to the next moment. My goal is to establish trust and give you a space to really express yourself freely, and if you are unsure of how to do that, I can help guide you. What can clients expect in their first interaction with me? The first session is all about building rapport and getting to know a little about you and your goals and answering any questions you might have. What’s my role in our work together? I listen to things that are unsaid- body language tells me things that may be difficult to say. Guide you into a therapeutic and realistic plan on how to manage feelings and emotions. What do I want clients to take away from working with me? To leave you with realistic tools and insights that will help guide you through the rough days, helping you feel more confident and accomplished. What’s something I wish more people knew about therapy? Therapy is what you make of it. Therapy isn’t only for moments of crisis, but a place to learn and grow in managing emotions and feelings.
