Biography
Dr. Racusin received his undergraduate degree with high honors from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York. He completed his orthopedic surgery training at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. After completing his training, Dr. Racusin served for 4 years as an active-duty US Army orthopedic surgeon at Fort Hood. During this time, he deployed to Afghanistan and served at a forward surgical team in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Dr. Racusin was honorably discharged from the military in 2014. He then completed a yearlong sports medicine and arthroscopy fellowship in San Diego, CA. He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery and has also obtained subspecialty training in sports medicine and arthroscopy. He has a particular interest in complex shoulder problems and shoulder replacement. Dr. Racusin uses robot-assisted technology to perform minimally invasive surgery. Patients benefit from shorter hospital stays, less pain, and a lower risk of infection due to the nature of the procedure. Learn more about robotic surgery.
