Baylor Scott & White Advanced Lung Disease Specialists – Dallas physicians are board-certified in pulmonary disease medicine specializing in chronic lung disease, connective tissue disease, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease and pulmonary fibrosis. We perform advanced diagnostic procedures and highly specialized evaluations for the proper identification and treatment of complex lung disorders in Dallas.

Depending on the diagnosis, Baylor Scott & White Advanced Lung Disease Specialists – Dallas will consult and work together with other medical, surgical and pulmonary rehabilitation specialists to create a treatment plan that gives hope for our lung patients to receive the best possible outcome and improved quality of life.

Bronchoscopies

A bronchoscopy is a test during which a physician examines the patient's airways by inserting a camera called a bronchoscope through the patient's nose. This camera transmits an image of the throat, larynx, trachea and lungs to the physician.

The lung doctor here in Dallas is also able to remove tissues for a sample, put in stents and apply medication. This test examines issues such as a chronic cough, lung disease, tumor or objects blocking the airway.

Lung transplant evaluations

Before being listed for a lung transplant, patients are required to undergo an evaluative process that determines if they are eligible. This evaluation may take a day or two to complete. It consists of a physical examination and various tests, such as X-rays, spirometry (breathing) tests and blood tests.

After testing, patients meet with the Dallas Lung Transplant Team, which includes a pulmonologist, transplant pharmacist, financial coordinator and social worker. These team members discuss with patients various aspects of lung transplant surgery and post-surgical care.

Pulmonary function testing

Pulmonary function testing is an evaluation consisting of many different tests that measure the function of the lungs and diagnose various lung conditions.

Tests perform and include X-rays, physicals, arterial blood gas analysis, plethysmography or spirometry.

These test the effects of chemicals on lungs, determine the cause of shortness of breath and check the area before lung surgery. This test can also diagnose certain types of lung diseases such as asthma, bronchitis and emphysema, find the cause of shortness of breath, measure whether the exposure to chemicals in a work environment affects the lung function and to check before a patient has surgery.

  • Pay by mail

    To ensure that your payment is properly applied to your account, detach the slip from your Baylor Scott & White billing statement and return the slip with your payment. If paying by check or money order, be sure to include your account number on the check or money order.

    Please mail payment to the address listed on your statement.

  • Pay by phone

    Payments to HTPN can be made over the phone with our automated phone payment system 24 hours a day, seven days a week. All payments made via the automated phone payment system will post the next business day. Please call 1.866.377.1650.

    If you need to speak to someone about a bill from a Baylor Scott & White Hospital, our Customer Service department is available to take payments over the phone from Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and can be reached at 1.800.994.0371.

  • Pay in person

    Payments can be made in person at the facility where you received services.
