Biography

Dr. Abby Wicks is a board-certified optometrist. Her professional interests include binocular vision dysfunction and concussion and traumatic brain injury vision dysfunction.

Before joining Baylor Scott & White in 2022, Dr. Wicks was recruited by the Department of Defense to develop a vision rehabilitation program among a multidisciplinary team of specialists at Fort Cavazos NICoE Intrepid Spirit Center. Through this endeavor, she rehabilitated nearly 2,000 active-duty soldiers, helping them return to duty.


Dr. Wicks is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. She is passionate about staying engaged in vision rehabilitation through quality care for her patients of all ages, peer-reviewed publications, clinical education for ophthalmologists and optometrists and routinely lecturing at national academic conferences.

Outside of work, Dr. Wicks enjoys traveling with her husband and children and visiting family in Iowa. She also likes outdoor activities, such as skiing, biking and swimming.
