Eligibility

Am I eligible for Healthy Weight?
To confirm your eligibility, create an account or sign into MyBSWHealth and complete the eligibility form. Exclusion factors include being pregnant (or within six months postpartum), breastfeeding, or having a BMI lower than 24.9 or greater than 45.

Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No, you do not need a referral for the Healthy Weight program.
Insurance and cost

Is insurance required?
Healthy Weight accepts most major commercial insurance plans, not including Medicaid and VA plans.

Will insurance cover my sessions?
Sessions with your coach are included in the program. If you see a physician for weight management medication, that appointment will be billed to your insurance.

Do I need insurance to get weight loss medications from Healthy Weight?
The cost for medication will vary based on eligibility and insurance coverage. Out-of-pocket options are usually available.

What is the cost for the Healthy Weight digital tool within the MyBSWHealth app?
There is no cost for the digital tools, coaching and progress tracking available to you as part of the Healthy Weight program.

Are in-person appointments available?
Healthy Weight offers virtual appointments only.

How long will it take to get my first appointment?
Healthy Weight is designed to provide you timely and high-quality care. You can expect to schedule your first virtual appointment within one to two weeks.

How do I schedule an appointment?
After confirming eligibility, you will be assigned a "Complete Personalization Assessment" card under your “Things to Do” section. Once completed, you can schedule an appointment with a coach. For follow-up appointments, you can schedule directly on the Healthy Weight platform and contact your coach directly.

How can I work with my coach?
On the personalization quiz, we ask you if you would like to engage with your coach via phone, video or message.

What’s included in the Healthy Weight program?
You'll have access to a personal coach and the app to help you with habit-building digital tools, activities, progress tracking and messaging, and scheduling options with your team.

What type of provider will I be seeing?
Your coach is a registered dietitian (included in the program). Baylor Scott & White physicians are available to prescribe medication and support you medically, as needed. Provider visits will be billed to your insurance, depending on coverage.

What kinds of weight loss medications are available?
GLP-1s and other weight loss medications may be prescribed. The physician you work with will help to determine which medication may be right for you.

What does it mean to say this is a “clinically backed program?”
Physicians and weight loss experts have informed the design and delivery of the program and also can determine who is eligible. Our physicians provide medication prescription and management, as well as any clinical guidance and treatment.

Do I need to be a resident of Texas for this program?
Yes, you will need to be a Texas resident to participate.

Is there a contract or minimum monthly commitment?
No, there is no contract for this program.

Do I have to buy any special food, bars, supplements, pills, etc.?
The program provides educational content and insights, but no special food, bars or supplements are necessary or included. Pills or other weight loss medication may be prescribed depending on your plan.
