Biography

Alexander J Sbrocchi, MD is a board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon who performs in the entire spectrum of adult cardiac surgery, including acquired and congenital heart disease. He specializes in coronary artery disease, thoracic aortic surgery, aortic and mitral valvular disease, arrhythmia and minimally invasive surgery. His expertise includes transcatheter based valve replacements, mechanical circulatory support, and transplantation. Dr. Sbrocchi graduated from The Medical University of South Carolina’s Integrated Cardiothoracic Surgery program, where he earned the Carolyn E. Reed teaching award. He is a member of the cardiology heart team and is actively involved as an investigator on several transcatheter valve devices.
