Anita Priya Shankar, MD

Dr. Shankar is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and enjoys taking care of the entire family – from newborns to the elderly. She practices preventative care and evidenced-based medicine. She views herself as her patient’s (and their family’s) partner in health and believes in shared-decision making with her patients by building strong relationships based on compassion, respect, trust, and good communication. Prior to joining Baylor Scott and White, Dr. Shankar practiced in Houston, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. She received the Outstanding Resident in Ambulatory Medicine for Internal Medicine/Pediatrics award during her medical training, and was recognized as an All-Star Clinician Communicator by her former employer. She is glad to be back in Texas, and outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and volunteering.
