Ashwin Anjaney Kamath, MD

Dr. Ashwin Kamath’s clinical interests include treatment of conditions affecting the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine; brain and spinal tumors; neurotrauma; trigeminal neuralgia; and the treatment of movement disorders with deep brain stimulation (DBS), performed with the patient fully asleep.


Originally from the northeast US, Dr. Kamath completed his medical training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City in 2012, and completed his neurosurgery training at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 2019. During residency, he completed an enfolded rotation at the Beaumont Hospital/RCSI program in Dublin, Ireland with an emphasis on spinal surgery. Following residency, he completed an additional year of training in functional neurosurgery, including asleep DBS, at the Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland, Oregon. He has published numerous studies in peer-reviewed journals and maintains an active interest in evidence-based medicine to deliver the best possible outcomes for his patients.

Dr. Kamath sees patients at our NeuroTexas locations in Round Rock, Pflugerville and Killeen.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Kamath enjoys reading, fitness, triathlons, and spending time with his family and rescue dog.
