Biography
Dr. Mickey is board-certified in neurological surgery and has extensive experience in the surgical management of brain and pituitary tumors, and of epilepsy. He also has many years of experience in the management of brain and pituitary tumors with Gamma Knife® radiosurgery. After retiring from the full-time faculty at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, he has joined Baylor Scott & White Neurosurgery Associates to work with us as we plan the future of neurosurgery in the Baylor Scott & White system. Dr. Mickey also serves as the Medical Director for Neuroscience Program Development & Integration at Baylor University Medical Center. In his spare time, Dr. Mickey enjoys hiking, cooking and spending time with his family. Dr. Mickey has been named a Texas Super Doctor every year from 2006 to 2022. Dr. Mickey was recognized by D Magazine as a Best Doctor for 2025. Dr. Mickey has been named one of D Magazine’s Best Docs at least 15 times earning him a place on D Magazine’s Hall of Fame list.
