Biography
Dr. Edwards is a sixth-generation Texan with a clinical specialty in heart rhythm disorders and in rare genetic cardiac abnormalities. In addition to his medical training, he has a PhD in molecular genetics and additional training from Johns Hopkins Medical Center in molecular cardiac rhythm disorders. He performs advanced cardiac ablation and placement of cardiac device implants and supervises testing and interpretation for cardiac genetic disease. Common ailments addressed in his heart rhythm clinics include atrial fibrillation, skipped beats, SVT and ventricular arrhythmias. The rare diseases he most commonly diagnoses and treats include hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, long QT syndrome (LQT), short QT syndrome, Brugada syndrome, catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia (ARVD/ARVC), inherited cardiomyopathy, myotonic dystrophy, Marfan Syndrome, and Loeys-Dietz syndrome.
