Biography

Dr. David Provost is a board-certified surgeon specializing in bariatric surgery. His professional interests include management of obesity and complications and weight-regain after bariatric surgery.


He is Chief of the section of Bariatric and General surgery at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple, Dr. Provost is passionate about educating future surgeons and their training in laparoscopic gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and revisions and complications.

He is proud to have performed the first laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery in Texas in April 1999.

Dr. Provost is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the American College of Surgeons and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, including his wife (a former Baylor Scott & White surgeon), two children and two grandchildren. Dr. Provost also likes music and traveling.
