Dr. Fredrick Ogugua is a board-certified cardiologist with advanced training in minimally invasive cardiovascular procedures and cardiovascular imaging. He is also certified by the National Board of Echocardiography. Dr. Ogugua is committed to providing thoughtful, personalized cardiovascular care. He believes that the best treatment begins with understanding each patient as an individual. He takes the time to listen to his patients’ concerns, goals, and unique circumstances and explains medical conditions and treatment options in a clear, understandable way. He works collaboratively with his patients to develop individualized treatment plans that fit their medical needs, lifestyle and personal goals.
Dr. Ogugua specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and other complex cardiovascular conditions. He has advanced expertise in minimally invasive procedures, including complex coronary interventions, chronic total occlusion (CTO) interventions, peripheral arterial interventions, left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO), and transcatheter closure of patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial septal defect (ASD).
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Ogugua is actively involved in cardiovascular research and has published peer-reviewed articles on aortic valve disease, heart failure, cardiac imaging, and other cardiovascular conditions. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a member of the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (SCAI). Dr. Ogugua speaks English and Igbo.
