Harry Shen, MD

A native Texan from Plano, Dr. Harry Shen attended Baylor University before earning his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, followed by fellowship training in rural and international procedural medicine. Dr. Shen began his career during the COVID-19 pandemic at a rural critical access hospital in Fort Stockton, Texas, where he served as a hospitalist, rural surgeon, teaching physician and critical care physician. He also served as chief of staff and later as chief medical officer. After returning to the Dallas-Fort Worth area to be closer to family, he completed a fellowship in primary care psychiatry.


Dr. Shen is grateful to join Baylor Scott & White Health, an organization that has cared for his family for many years. A personal family loss inspired him to pursue medicine and gave him a lasting sense of purpose. He views caring for patients as a calling and is thankful for the opportunity to have served people across a wide range of clinical settings.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Shen enjoys fishing, hunting, traveling the world and immersing himself in new cultures. He loves history. philosophy, and art, and tends to keep himself busy with board games and science fiction novels.
