Biography
Dr. Jason Hoover went to medical school at Texas Tech Health Science Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas. There he was recognized for academic excellence with nomination to Alpha Omega Alpha and graduated near the top of his class. Dr. Hoover was mentored by Dr. Alan Kaye where he was active in research. He then went to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he completed a seven-year residency in neurosurgery. While at Mayo Clinic, he garnered awards recognizing his commitment to patients, education, and research. Dr. Hoover is dedicated to providing the best care to his patients and is trained in numerous aspects of neurosurgery, allowing for a comprehensive practice. He specializes in a full spectrum of cranial and spinal disease including epilepsy, neurodegenerative and spinal degenerative disease, tumor, trauma, and hydrocephalus, to name a few. Dr. Hoover’s position with the Texas Brain and Spine Institute allows him to continue his passion of teaching medical students at Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. This position also affords the opportunity to continue pursuing clinical research endeavors. Dr. Hoover is married with three children and they enjoy fitness and travelling.
