Dr. Dharamsi attended Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where she served as a class officer and was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Society for being among the top in her class. Prior to graduating from Hopkins in 2008, she completed a yearlong research fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD, where she studied the molecular basis of skin cancer.
After completing her internship at Georgetown University in the Washington, D.C. area, Dr. Dharamsi returned home to Texas for her dermatology residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. After serving as Chief Resident her senior year, she graduated from residency and received her certification from the American Board of Dermatology.
In addition to her work in private practice, Dr. Dharamsi dedicates her time to serving our nation’s veterans as a dermatologist and cancer surgeon at the Dallas and Bonham Veterans Affairs Hospitals. She also has a passion for teaching, which she satisfies through serving as a university Assistant Clinical Professor. There, she is involved in resident education in the Department of Dermatology as well as the Department of Emergency Medicine, and she has been nominated multiple times by her residents for the Community Teaching Award.
She also volunteers as a dermatologist at the Agape Clinic and as a remote dermatology consultant for medical missions in Bihar, India. Dr. Dharamsi is also politically active at the national level and has lobbied congress for patient rights and access to healthcare.
Dr. Dharamsi has a strong academic background and has published numerous research articles, including in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, JAMA Dermatology, British Journal of Dermatology and Journal of Emergency Medicine.
She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgeons, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Dermatologic Society, and the Dallas Dermatologic Society.
