Joel Today, DO

Dr. Joel Today is a board-certified family medicine physician in Temple with an emphasis on serving the LGBTQIA+ community. He offers gender-diverse hormone-affirming therapy. He also supports healthcare providers across Central Texas by providing electronic consultations on LGBTQIA+ healthcare and offering essential medical and psychosocial resources.


In caring for his patients, Dr. Today strives to provide quality care by removing barriers to treatment and advocating for equitable healthcare access. He works to create a welcoming and supportive environment for transgender patients so that they receive comprehensive care and guidance. He considers it an honor to support his patients on their journeys to health and well-being.

Dr. Today is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, GLMA: Health Professionals Advancing LGBTQ+ Equality and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.

In his personal time, he enjoys weight training during the week, exploring diverse culinary cuisines in the kitchen on weekends and planning memorable holidays with his husband. He also has an interest in historic homes and cherishes the moments spent with his two sphynx cats and Great Dane.
