Dr. Stephen Appleton specializes in the treatment of injuries and disorders of the hip and knee. He performs primary and revision hip and knee joint replacement surgery as well as partial joint replacement and is actively involved in research in the field. Dr. Appleton received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Appleton completed his Orthopaedic Residency at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. He received further training at Duke University where he completed a Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery of the Hip and Knee and was inducted into the Piedmont Orthopaedic Society. In addition to his association with the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Piedmont Orthopaedic Society, Dr. Appleton is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Appleton moved to Dallas at an early age and is a graduate of St. Mark's School of Texas. He earned a bachelor's degree from Emory University in Atlanta, GA while instructing and competing in skydiving.
