Biography
Karan Gupta, DO, FACC, is an interventional cardiologist specializing in structural heart disease in Fort Worth, Texas. He received his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Upon graduating, he completed his internal medicine residency at the Palmetto General Hospital in Hialeah, FL where he served as Chief Resident, and his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Medical City in Fort Worth. He completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Chicago (NorthShore). During his time in fellowship, he served as a sub investigator for many national clinical trials and investigational device studies. Dr. Gupta has a passion and extensive clinical interest in complex coronary and transcatheter structural interventions and has presented abstracts and cases at multiple national conferences. He is skilled in right and left heart catheterization, complex coronary stenting, coronary atherectomy (rotational or laser), intracoronary lithotripsy (ShockWave), percutaneous PFO/ASD closures, transcatheter aortic valve replacements (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR), transcatheter mitral valve repair (TMVr or MitraClip), perivalvular leak closures, peripheral artery interventions, Impella device placement, and IABP device placement. Although he was born and raised in South Florida, Fort Worth holds a special place in his heart, for both of his children were born here.
