Dr. Fetten is a cardiothoracic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in transplant and mechanical circulatory support. She performs both heart and lung transplantation as well as mechanical support device placement, such as durable LVADs or ECMO.
While Dr. Fetten feels incredibly passionate about transplantation, she also particularly enjoys valve and bypass surgeries. Repairing or replacing a poorly functioning valve and observing the heart function improve is incredibly rewarding to her. An additional passion of hers includes Pulmonary thromboendarterectomies (PTE): intricate surgeries where a chronic blood clot is removed from the pulmonary vessels.
Originally from Hamburg, Germany Dr. Fetten loves to travel and recently visited Africa to hike Mount Kilimanjaro. She also enjoys rock climbing and cycling to stay active.
