Biography
Maria I Juarez MD, FACP is the medical director of the Charles A. Sammons Cancer Centers in Waxahachie and Duncanville. Dr. Juarez is board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology. She is committed to guide her patients through all aspects of care, from diagnosis, to surgery and treatment. Though she specializes in diseases of the breast, she also treats solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. Dr. Juarez is a graduate of the University of Navarra Medical School in Pamplona, Spain. She completed her internal medicine residency at the VA Medical Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico and her hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and holds a Master in Business Administration by the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She was recognized by the American Society of Hematology as a “Choosing Wisely” Champion in 2016 for her efforts to improve the quality of patient care. Dr. Juarez has two adult children.
