Biography
Dr. Khan completed his Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology fellowships at Baylor University Medical Center, part of Baylor Scott & White Health.
He is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine, interventional cardiology, and hospice and palliative medicine. Dr. Khan is also certified by the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine.
Dr. Khan is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the International Society of Endovascular Specialists, the American College of Phlebology and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
He is also selected as a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention.
Dr. Khan practices both noninvasive and interventional cardiology. On the interventional cardiology front, he has brought new technology, techniques and devices to his practice to help improve patient care. Of note, he was the first cardiologist in Collin County to deploy a drug-eluting stent.
His expertise in peripheral vascular disease includes minimally invasive surgical treatment of carotid artery stenosis, peripheral vascular disease and abdominal aortic aneurysm endovascular treatment.
On the noninvasive side, he also has equipment in his office that makes it possible to do a comprehensive cardiac evaluation under one roof. Other services offered in the office include echocardiograms (ultrasound of the heart), stress tests, EKG and pacemaker analysis.
His office equipment includes a Cardiac Computed Tomography machine. CT technology allows him to perform a completely noninvasive angiogram of the heart. The 64-slice Siemens CT machine also allows the physician to perform heart scans and screen for heart attack and the early detection of coronary artery disease.
Dr. Khan is actively involved in clinical research and has been conducting research in his practice since 2002. He established the North Dallas Research Associates. He has done several clinical trials in the past and is currently doing several trials at the McKinney location.
