Naheed Velji, MD

Dr. Velji’s initial passion for medicine was sparked when volunteering at a hospital in Africa. As a sophomore in college, Dr. Velji faced his family’s biggest challenge when his mother, aged 48, was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer.  He still remembers the shock, fear, and anxiety that struck the family; they were blindsided and clueless. He became her primary caregiver through her treatment and appointments, researching her medications. This became the beginning of Dr. Velji’s journey in cancer medicine. Dr. Velji feels this is perhaps the most exciting time in cancer medicine as all the resources that have been put toward research are now coming to fruition with new treatment strategies and options, emphasizing that in treating cancer, one size does NOT fit all.

Dr. Velji has been recognized as a Top Doc 2023, 2024, and 2025 by Austin Monthly Magazine. Winners are nominated by their peers as among the best in their region/nation in their medical specialty.
