"Dr. Arffa is a fellowship-trained rhinologist and general otolaryngologist. She is from Pittsburgh, PA, and completed her medical school training at the University of Pittsburgh. She then did her Otolaryngology residency at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Temple and completed a fellowship in Rhinology at the Sinus and Nasal Institute of Florida in St. Petersburg, FL. Dr. Arffa enjoys caring for patients with problems in the fields of otolaryngology. She is a specialty-trained sinus specialist capable of caring for patients with complicated sinus problems, such as allergic fungal sinusitis, sinus tumors, inverted papilloma, CSF leak and more. She is an avid traveler and frequently visits Asia, especially Japan. She also enjoys cooking, artwork and spending time with her family."

Every other provider begins with a question they already know, to some extent, which is "what is bringing you in"? This allows a doctor who is sensitive and empathetic with the patient to determine "the space they are in" as well as makes them feel included in their care decisions and ask pertinent questions about their condition. She came in, did not smile and had a cold rather than a warm demeanor. She sat down at the computer where the cat-scan was on the screen and began to tell me what was wrong with me. At least 3 different times, my daughter interrupted her to say, "this is not what we came here for!" We had been to 5 different doctors who produced medical facts behind my condition but could not interpret the relationship between what the medical tests revealed and the symptoms being experienced. Each had suggested we see an ENT to tie the loose ends together so that a next step could be determined. I would sum up her attitude as cold, haughty, as though she was the one in the room who mattered and we were lucky to be in her presence. When we left, we both shared that feeling and hoped the medical student who was shadowing her that day did not think that what he saw was good patient care. I have gone to an ENT that is not in the BSW system before, and next time I will go back to him although it means a drive the Cedar Park. Please consider what I have written as I have never left any doctor\'s office feeling so angry and frustrated before. Thank you.

I didn\'t realize my situation needed care immediately and was given an option of a specific date in December or another in January. I had a conflict with the December appointment so I took the January on. I later learned that this condition needed to be treated within 30 days but since I did not know this, I delayed. But the care has been very good and it may end up being that the timing wasn\'t as important as it sometimes is in these cases.

I thought and so did my husband that she, the E.N.T. was not friendly. I was sent to her in need of a biopsy from my mouth/lip so I denied the nasal spray for her routine exams. It appeared she was bothered by that and went on to explain why she ask patients to do this. I told her I was not there for a routine ENT checkup, but that if she felt I needed it then by all means I would do it.... the topic was then dropped and procedure was done. I am sorry, perhaps she just has a strong military personality that I am not use to seeing.

I was thankful that she seen me even though I had seen another provider and there were no appts available with him. I had the day off and I had passed a saliva stone - so I was given peace of mind by coming in and being assisted by her.

Very late and dismissive. We went into the office with the nurse, fairly fast and then waitied in the patient room, it seemed forever. The Dr acted as though she didn\'t want to be at the appointment, I should have left at once and gone elsewhere. The Dr told my son to read a bunch of printouts, which we could have done at home online. The Dr. never addressed me, so I could ask questions. it is my son, I do have concerns and I did pay for the appointment. I have other insurance than BSW, so it\'s a choice that we go there. The Dr should be given training on time management and patient care, I think she cut class on those days.

She was one of the best doctors I have ever visited. She was very frank (in a good way) because I had a lot of other opinions from other doctors and medications that were not necessary because I did not have an infection. She handled the issue right away.
