Very kind, thoughtful, empathetic, straightforward, thorough, articulate... + many other adjectives = all good. I'd had a bad experience before with a pain management doctor so was somewhat apprehensive about seeing Dr. Martin but, within just a few minutes of meeting him, he quickly put all my concerns and angst to rest.

He was distracted, He used cookie cutter response, what really was upsetting was his lack of patient safety. He suggested treatment that cause medical problems in the past, yet suggested trying it again? I asked him if he understood that I could die, he answered well you were under treatment for cancer too....what? I am a RN. I asked how he proposed to safely start a medication outpatient when I have had 2episodes of adverse reactions? I never got an answer. He then said he needed medical records. He was disrespectful of the pain management program at Stanford, my previous provider in California. Totally dismissed their plan. Bullied me, telling me I could go see another provider if I did not want to accept his plan.. Yes I know my rights. Most important, I will not be bullied, made to feel bad because chemotherapy caused my neuropathy. Your risk management team needs to be aware.
