Biography

Sania Shakil, MD is a board-certified neurologist with Baylor Scott & White Health who specializes in general neurology and clinical neurophysiology, providing expert care for adults and older adults in Plano, Texas. Dr. Shakil has a special interest in the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy, neuropathy and headaches, helping patients manage complex neurological conditions through comprehensive, evidence-based care tailored to their individual needs.


Dr. Shakil earned her medical degree from Dow Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan, before completing her internship and neurology residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. She then pursued advanced fellowship training in clinical neurophysiology at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire, where she further developed expertise in the evaluation and treatment of disorders affecting the brain, nerves and neuromuscular system.

As a physician board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Shakil is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centered neurological care. She works closely with patients to identify the underlying causes of symptoms and develop personalized treatment plans designed to improve quality of life, function and long-term neurological health.

Dr. Shakil welcomes patients experiencing a wide range of neurological concerns, including seizures and epilepsy, peripheral neuropathy, chronic headaches and other disorders of the nervous system. She is fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi, allowing her to connect with and care for patients from diverse backgrounds.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Shakil enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and exploring new places, as well as discovering great food and local activities.
