Dr. Mehta is a transplant hepatologist specializing in the management of liver disease. He has clinical expertise in a full spectrum of diseases including cirrhosis, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), autoimmune hepatitis, and primary biliary cholangitis. He also has a focus in the care of patients undergoing liver transplant evaluation and post-transplant recipients. He is board certified in Transplant Hepatology, Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine.Â
Dr. Mehta grew up in Fort Worth and attended FWISD schools. He completed his medical school, residency, and fellowship within Texas institutions including MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He went on to finish his transplant hepatology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL. Most recently, Dr. Mehta was an Assistant Professor at the University of Arizona in Phoenix where he received accolades for his teaching and published several research papers and book chapters. Â
Dr. Mehta has returned to DFW to be closer to the community he grew up in. He is now Assistant Professor at Texas Christian University and joins the growing team of liver disease experts at Liver Consultants of Texas – Fort Worth. He is happy to be home with his wife and three sons.
