Biography
Dr. Stephen Ponder chose a career in health care following his diagnosis of type 1 diabetes at age 9, an experience that inspired his dedication to pediatric endocrinology. He finds great fulfillment in caring for children and adolescents with endocrine conditions and diabetes, working closely with families to help them achieve healthy, well-balanced lives. Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Ponder is actively involved in community service, including directing a residential diabetes camp program and supporting a free clinic for uninsured children. He and his wife also enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
