Vijay Muraliraj, MD

Vijay Muraliraj, MD, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified colon and rectal surgeon serving patients in Waxahachie, Texas. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer, colon cancer, rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), diverticulitis and a wide range of benign and complex conditions affecting the colon, rectum and anus. Dr. Muraliraj is experienced in all aspects of colon and rectal surgery and utilizes advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes.


Dr. Muraliraj has particular expertise in robotic colorectal surgery, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticulitis and anorectal disorders. He treats conditions such as Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, hemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal fistulas, rectal prolapse, constipation and colorectal cancer. After earning his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School, Dr. Muraliraj completed his general surgery training at UT Southwestern Medical Center before pursuing advanced fellowship training in colorectal surgery at LAC+USC Medical Center in Los Angeles. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
