Biography

Zachary Roberts, MD, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon serving patients in Dallas and Tyler, Texas. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal cancer, colon cancer, rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), diverticulitis and other conditions affecting the colon, rectum and anus. Dr. Roberts provides comprehensive care for patients with both benign and complex colorectal diseases, combining advanced surgical expertise with personalized, patient-centered treatment.


Dr. Roberts has a particular interest in the surgical management of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, colorectal cancer and diverticulitis. He also treats a wide range of benign anorectal conditions, including hemorrhoids, anal fissures and anal fistulas. His academic interests focus on Crohn's disease and advancing the surgical treatment options available to patients with inflammatory bowel disease.

Dr. Roberts is experienced in minimally invasive colorectal surgery and offers advanced surgical techniques, including robotic surgery, laparoscopic surgery, hand-assisted laparoscopic surgery and transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS). These approaches can help reduce recovery times, minimize surgical trauma and support improved patient outcomes.

A member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Dr. Roberts is committed to delivering evidence-based care while helping patients navigate complex colorectal conditions with confidence and compassion.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Roberts enjoys hunting, traveling, exploring new restaurants and spending time with his wife, child and two dogs. A Kansas native, he is also an avid University of Kansas Jayhawks and Kansas City Chiefs fan.
